This year at AHR Expo in Chicago, Crown Boiler introduced the Aruba 4 gas-fired hot water boiler in a completely redesigned booth. The Aruba 4 (AWR) is designed for use with residential and small commercial applications with an approved chimney. The AWR has an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) that varies from 82.8% to 83.3% and the cast iron heat exchanger comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
The AWR is available in eight different sizes, ranging from 38,000 to 280,000 BTU of input and features a number of upgrades from it’s predecessor, the Aruba 3. The Aruba 3 came in three different models, depending on the piping configuration needed. The AWR now comes in one model, standard with piping on the right side of the boiler. However, it is easily field convertible to left side piping if the installation calls for it. The Aruba 4 also has a redesigned heat exchanger with double tapped end sections which allows for one model to be piped on either the left or right side.
The draft diverter on the Aruba 4 has been moved to the rear of the boiler, rather than the top as on the Aruba 3, which allows for closet applications on the 38,000 through 210,000 BTU models. By using an integral rear draft diverter, a vestibule was created in the front of the boiler. The controls were moved into this space, which provides for easier access and gives the boiler a cleaner look while being less space consuming. The Aruba 4 will also come with a Honeywell Intermittent Ignition System, with an Integrated Boiler Control coming later in 2012. This control will be compatible with several upgrade options, including an after market harness for Low Water Cut Off, a docking station and a touch screen.
Along with the Aruba 4, the Bimini family of products was displayed, including the Bimini condensing gas-fired boiler, Bimini Buddy hydraulic separator and PPs Flex Vent chimney vent kit. The Mega-Stor indirect water heater was on display as well. Crown Boiler also introduced new features to the booth, including a new backdrop and two touch screen monitors. An internet enabled 42″ touch screen was available for browsing other products not shown at AHR Expo, as well as visiting Crown Boiler University, Crown Boiler’s online training center. A smaller touch screen was made available for demoing the new SOLA control for the Bimini boiler.
Crown Boiler would like to thank everyone who stopped by the booth and made the show a success. Congratulations goes out to Jerry Johnson, Vice President of Johnson Heating & Cooling in Bedford, Ohio. Jerry stopped by the booth during his time at AHR Expo, entered to win an Amazon Kindle Fire and came away a winner!
